Workshop Topic: Desert Roots Bellydance 
This workshop teaches authentic Folkloric/Root bellydance  moves, steps, turns and techniques  that collectively create the foundations of the original Tribal styles and classical Bellydance! Students learn and drill bellydance moves from various regions such as Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey and beyond as they learn techniques for performing with them thru follow along, short dance combinations taught in class. Everything taught in this class can be applied to ALL Styles of bellydance performance including Folkloric, Tribal, Baladi, Shaabi and Classical Egyptian.

Carrie Konyha is a life-long career bellydancer who has won multiple awards in the categories of bellydance performance, choreography and instructing. In the past 20 years she has performed with many famed arabic musicians in both the USA and the Middle-East and she specializes in teaching Musicality for Bellydancers in addition to authentic/classical bellydance technique. 

Carrie has performed in Egypt and Dubai, UAE and has spent a total of 5 months in Egypt during the past 2 years, conducting field research in Egyptian Musicality and Dance. When she’s not traveling, Carrie lives in Sedona AZ where she teaches weekly classes and specialty workshops in Bellydance at her own studio, Lotus Studio.
